With 20-year tomato farmer Ryan Voiland. We'll be gathering in the barn in Granby to go over how to grow really good tomatoes in your garden. So many flavors and options! Get tips for choosing tomato varieties that fit your eating interests. Then we'll do a tomato planting demo and talk about best growing conditions.
Our farm has been growing heirlooms for many years and we have our latest list of favorites to share with you. Many of these specialty tomato varieties are also for sale at our farmstands, so you can pick some up when you come for the workshop. Directions to the farm.

Last year we had a cookbook writer visiting the farm, taking pictures, and discussing recipes. Janet Fletcher's book, "Eating Local" is out with a feature section about Red Fire, stories from other family farms across the US, and lots of yummy recipes from farm fresh ingredients. So we're going to sign some copies! Come visit us. It will be at Sur La Table in The Mall at Chestnut Hill, 199 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, MA.
Join us at the farm in Granby for a celebration of the strawberry during the peak of picking season! An afternoon with tastings in the barn, and a special evening meal made with our fresh seasonal produce, featuring strawberries.
July 18, Sunday:
hike on new montague farm landCome visit the new land that will hopefully be a secure land base into the future. Walk the fields with covercrops, wade across the Sawmill River, walk down to the edge of the Connecticut. Bring a picnic and hang out, there's some fun things to do in the area, like visit the Bookmill or our Montague farmstand.
August 28, Saturday: Every year, we have an unbelievable selection of amazing and often award-winning tomatoes for you to taste. It's a great day at the farm, with everything from a 5K Tomato Trot field race to hay rides to cooking demonstrations to live music to crafters and a smorgasbord of local fare from area producers. Come and visit!
Come press fresh cider from the fall apple harvest! Bring a potluck dish to share for an early supper at the farm. We'll be making some fabulous seasonal edibles as well!
